Boycott The NSA Wiretaps By Creating Unfriendly Telecommunications
Bismillah!
Lately the news has been littered with stories about how the NSA has received records from the various phone companies through a voluntary submission upon request from the NSA. This is clearly a violation of the Fourth Amendment of the Bill of Rights in the US Constitution. The telecom companies have become de facto agents of the government. There are numerous federal and state court precdents that have cited application of constitutional protections when a de facto agency is created. It is also common practice of businesses to refuse to turn over records in such a fashion without the protection of law either through a warrant, subpeona or statute that specifically covers the matters at hand.
Salaam!
But what is done is done and we cannot unring that bell. However, there are not-for-profits, like the ACLU, EFF, EPIC, etc., that will be taking the matter to court and making the argument for judgement against the NSA (et al) on these issues. I would encourage you to make donations to one or all of these organizations and stay on top of the progress they make in the process.
Shukran!
Recent grassroot efforts have suggested a boycott of the major corporate offenders in these matters. I wholly endorse such action. We need to send corporate entities that would choose to bypass our constitutional protections by becoming de facto agents of the government a message that this is not the America where that sort of thing is tolerated.
Islamic Jihad
HOWEVER.... This will not stop the NSA, George W. Bush, the Bush Gang or other entities of government from continuing the process of widely sweeping telecom searches. But I suggest an NSA boycott that might just do the trick. Here's how it works:
Islamic Brotherhood
1. Begin every telecommunications message with one of the following words (by voice, in the subject line, at the beginning of the body or elsewhere):
Bismillah
Salaam
Allah-o-akbar
Bush is an idiot
Bombs away!
Get out of Iraq
Are you listening?
Al-Qaeda
Islamic Jihad
Riyadh
Beirut
Cairo
West Bank
Islamic Brotherhood
Shukran
Terror, terrorism, terrorists
plans
cell
activate
or something of that nature.
2. Intersperse these same words in the body of every e-mail, in ever phone conversation, every online chat, every fax, and every other telecom communique.
Bombs Away!
3. Submit daily FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests for all records regarding telecommunications involving your name, telephone number(s), faxes, e-mails, chats or other telecommunication to the FBI, the NSA, the CIA, the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the White House, the Office of the Speaker of the House and the Office of the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, the Fedderal Communications Commission, the Department of Energy, the Department of Commerce, each branch of the military and any other federal agency remotely related to communications, energy, intelligence, homeland security, etc. Do this every day for 7-30 days.
Terrorists Suck!
The entire idea of this form of "boycott" is to create such a burden on the computer systems and the administrative processes used to implement the domestic spying operations that it has to shut down for a short while. It will speak volumes about how we do not want to be spied upon without a warrant, probable cause and genuine national interests.
Good luck... And Remember George Bush is an idiot!
