A Word About Comments

I really do appreciate anyone that reads my blog. But I have some basic rules regarding comments that I think are fair and just, especially since it takes me a lot of time researching the issues, reading the related articles and writing my posts. If you care to comment, please do! But make it a comment that has some thought and consideration of the subject matter and respect for the time and energy put forth in maintaining the blog.

Today I received two comments that were nothing more than snide remarks with racist and ethnic connotations that were just inappropriate for the topic and the atmosphere permeating our nation at this time. Of course I rejected these comments for publishing. I do not care if you criticize my posts, my thoughts or even me... but such criticism should be focused and articulate, with some definite thought as to its content and the rationale for the critique. I am not so much concerned with sarcasm provided it is justifiable in the context of what I have written or the topic for which I have focused my attention. But racist remarks and ethnic slurs are just inapproriate on my blog. Period. Thanks for understanding these criteria for posting comments.
